Rent is where Quaid-e-Azam Hostel really stands apart from the pack. Rooms run from just PKR 4,500 to PKR 9,500 per month, an unusually easy landing for students watching every rupee near Ayub Medical. Don't mistake the low price for a bare setup, though. Rooms come with beds, mattresses, wardrobes and geysers for hot water, there are attached bathrooms so you skip the morning queue, and even an iron and board on hand for when you need to look presentable. Wi-Fi keeps you connected through the coursework. The co-ed hostel is barely 230 metres from Ayub Medical, a three-minute walk, and COMSATS Abbottabad is about 1.18 km away for anyone splitting campuses. The surroundings are pure medical-student territory: Ayub Teaching Hospital is around 360 metres off, the Ayub School of Nursing is close by at roughly 370 metres, and the Quetta Hashmi corner nearby sorts out a quick bite. For residents who want to live within a few minutes of the hospital gates without stretching their budget, this is about as affordable as walkable gets.
