Royal Fort keeps things straightforward from a leafy address on Main Kaghan Road in F-8/4, one of the pleasanter sectors to be based in. Rooms come with beds and mattresses ready and geysers plumbed in for hot water, which is no small thing on a cold Islamabad morning, and parking is available for guests arriving by car. Wi-Fi runs through the place. Rates are held in a tight band of PKR 17,000 to PKR 20,000 per day, so there are no surprises when you settle up. The setting is quiet and residential: Islamabad Convent School is a short walk off, and the Deer Enclosure nearby makes for an unusual green diversion if you have time between plans. Campus-wise, NDU and Bahria Islamabad are both under two kilometres away, an easy twenty-minute walk or brief ride, while UoL Islamabad sits a little further at around three and a half. F-8's central footing keeps the rest of the city within comfortable reach.
