You would struggle to live closer to VU Rawalpindi than at Zakariya boys hostel — the campus is a two-minute walk, just under two hundred metres from the door, which effectively removes the commute from a student's day. The hostel sits on Main 6th Road in D Block, Satellite Town, near the Total Parco station, with Sultania Restaurant only metres away and the Midway Shopping Centre a short walk on for daily needs. Al-Furqan Park is close by too, handy for a break from the books. Rent runs from PKR 32,500 to PKR 45,000 per month, placing it toward the upper end for the area. Rooms are furnished with beds and mattresses, and wardrobes give residents proper space to keep clothes and belongings in order rather than living out of a bag. UPS backup keeps fans and devices going during load-shedding, and Wi-Fi handles the online-class and assignment load. Preston lies under four kilometres away and FAST around five and a half for those enrolled elsewhere. For a VU student who wants to shave the walk to campus down to almost nothing and doesn't mind paying a little more for the convenience, this is about as central as it gets.
