Where to Stay Near Islamabad Airport (2026): Closest Areas, Prices & Road-Closure Plan

Where should you stay near Islamabad airport? It depends on how early your flight is, what you want to spend and whether the roads will be open. This guide compares the areas within about 20 km of the new Islamabad International Airport (ISB) — from a self-contained studio in Top City-1, five kilometres from the terminal, through the guest-house ring at B-17, D-17 and G-15, to the G-13 corridor, which has a metro stop on the line to the airport — with distances measured from the terminal and prices in rupees per night. Just need a hotel close to the airport tonight? Our live list of all hotels near Islamabad airport is sorted by distance and updated as new places join.

It also covers two things the big booking sites get wrong. Some still list hotels around Chaklala in Rawalpindi, home of the old Benazir Bhutto airport that stopped handling passenger flights when ISB opened in 2018. And none of them plan for the days Islamabad's roads are sealed with containers — which is exactly when sleeping close to the terminal matters most. If you're still deciding whether to stay near the airport at all, our three-airport guide for Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad has the rule of thumb; this page is the Islamabad deep-dive.

Where to Stay Near Islamabad Airport (2026): Closest Areas, Prices & Road-Closure Plan

Distance and price: how the areas around Islamabad airport compare

Distances below are straight-line from the ISB terminal (the road is always a little longer), and drive times assume normal traffic.

Stay Area Distance from ISB Listed rate/night
Lush Living Top City 1 Islamabad Top City-1 ~5 km Rs 6,000–7,000
The Crown Guest House F-18, Faisal Town 7.4 km Rs 11,500–15,500
Guest house Noor Residence G-15 ~12 km Rs 18,500–22,500
Own It Apartments D-17 ~13 km Ask the host
Riwayat Guest House B-17 ~15 km Ask the host
Green Line Motel G-14 ~16 km Rs 11,500–20,000
Hotel Red Line Golra Morr, H-13 ~16 km Rs 14,000–18,500
Royal Inn Guest House G-13 ~16 km Rs 15,500–21,500
Sky Lodge Guest House G-13 ~17 km Rs 10,000–13,500
Zaviya Guest House G-13 G-13 ~17 km Rs 15,000–23,000
Islamabad Guest House H-13 H-13 ~17 km Rs 10,000–15,000
Malik Ashraf House Girja Road, Rawalpindi ~17 km Rs 5,500–10,000

Read it in three bands. Inside 8 km you are 5–15 minutes from departures, but there are only two choices. Between 12 and 15 km the drive stretches to roughly 15–25 minutes; Noor Residence in G-15 lists Rs 18,500–22,500, while the B-17 and D-17 hosts quote rates directly. At 16–17 km you reach the G-13 corridor: around 20–30 minutes out, but with the most beds, the most price points and a metro line that ends at the terminal. Central Islamabad, for comparison, is the 25–30 km, 30–45 minute run.

This table is a snapshot from October 2026. For the live list — every stay on Staezy sorted by distance from the terminal, updated as new places join — see all hotels near Islamabad airport.

Top City-1: the shortest drive to departures

Top City-1 is the housing society on the Srinagar Highway beside the airport, and it is where the closest stay on Staezy sits. Lush Living Top City 1 Islamabad is a self-contained studio in City Tower, Block A — about 5 km from the terminal, roughly 5–10 minutes by car — at Rs 6,000–7,000 a night.

What you get is a private apartment rather than a hotel room: an attached bathroom, a double bed plus a sofa-cum-bed for a second traveller or a relative who has come to see someone off, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a TV, a fridge, a kettle and a geyser. The building has a lift, which counts when you are hauling suitcases, and the owner lists inverter backup for load-shedding. Laundry and pressing can be arranged on request for an extra charge — useful if you have landed after a long trip and fly again in a couple of days.

One honest note: Lush Living is newly listed on Staezy, so it does not yet have the track record of The Crown Guest House in F-18, which at 7.4 km remains the nearest established guest house to ISB (Rs 11,500–15,500). If distance is the priority, Top City-1 wins; if you would rather book somewhere with a longer history, Crown is next in line. Either way, confirm your arrival time and checkout on WhatsApp before paying anything — our safe hotel booking guide shows how.

Guest houses near Islamabad airport: the B-17, D-17 and G-15 ring

Between the airport and the city, three planned communities sit 12–15 km from the terminal — roughly 15–25 minutes in normal traffic — with quieter streets and more neighbourhood around you.

  • B-17: Riwayat Guest House is the guest-house option in this sector — confirm the nightly rate with the host before you book.
  • Apartment-style: Own It Apartments in D-17 is an apartment-style option for a stay of a few nights — ask the host for the current rate.
  • Room to spread out: Guest house Noor Residence in G-15 is the priciest in this band at Rs 18,500–22,500, with parking and a water filter on the listing — a fit for families staying a few nights before a long-haul flight.

This ring makes the most sense when you are in Islamabad for several days but want the last morning to be short: close enough that a jam or a closure doesn't wreck the departure, without giving up the feel of a residential sector.

The G-13 corridor: the widest choice of hotels in Islamabad near the airport

Most of the stays within 20 km of ISB are packed into G-13, G-14 and H-13, about 16–17 km out — roughly 20–30 minutes by road. If you are comparing hotels in Islamabad near the airport, this is where most of the options sit, with several price points on the same street rather than one or two listings.

The corridor's hidden advantage is the Orange Line metro bus, which runs from Peshawar Morr through NUST, G-13 and Golra to the airport itself. With light luggage and a daytime flight, a G-13 guest house plus the metro is one of the cheapest ways to get from a bed to the terminal. Two limits: it does not run through the night, so it won't help with a pre-dawn departure (check the current timings), and the service has been suspended during protest lockdowns.

Looking for a cheap hotel near Islamabad airport? On the Rawalpindi side, Malik Ashraf House on Girja Road lists from Rs 5,500 — the lowest nightly rate on Staezy within 20 km of ISB; our hotels in Rawalpindi guide covers that half of the twin cities. Don't book near the old airport by mistake

Until May 2018, Islamabad's flights used Benazir Bhutto International Airport at Chaklala, inside Rawalpindi. When the new airport opened near Fateh Jang, passenger flights moved out — but some hotels near Chaklala still use "airport" in their names, and some travel sites still measure distances to the old site.

Chaklala is more than 25 km from the new terminal, so a room advertised as five minutes from "the airport" there is five minutes from the wrong one. If you want a hotel near the new Islamabad airport, check the distance against Islamabad International Airport (ISB), not Benazir Bhutto Airport — every distance in this guide is measured from the new terminal.

Road closures before a flight: the night-before plan

Islamabad and Rawalpindi are sealed with shipping containers more often than visitors expect. During major protests, sit-ins and security operations, containers go up at city entrances, motorway interchanges and the routes into the Red Zone. The airport sits outside the city, so it can keep operating while the roads to it become the bottleneck — and in past lockdowns the metro bus was suspended and mobile signals were switched off in parts of the city.

If a closure is announced, this is the plan that works:

  1. Move airport-side the evening before. A bed 5–15 km from ISB leaves far fewer places for a closure to catch you on departure morning. Top City-1, B-17 and D-17 are the closest areas on our books.
  2. Save everything offline. Booking confirmation, the host's WhatsApp number, a screenshot of the pinned location and your e-ticket — if mobile data goes down, you will still have them.
  3. Settle the timings in writing. Agree check-in and checkout with the host, and ask whether they can line up a car for an early run, since ride-hailing can be hard to find in outer areas at odd hours.
  4. Coming from another city? Travel a day early. When motorways into the twin cities have closed in the past, trains to Rawalpindi kept running — slower, but moving.
  5. Watch your airline's advisories and leave earlier than usual. Airlines don't always relax check-in cut-offs during a closure, so build in a real buffer.

The rule of thumb in our three-airport guide — sleep airport-side for early departures, short layovers and late landings with a morning flight, and in the city otherwise — still holds. A closure simply adds one more reason to stay close.
