Hotels Near Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad Airports: The Late-Night Arrival Guide

Land at Jinnah International at 2 a.m. and you have a genuinely good problem: ten Staezy-listed hotels and guest houses sit within 2.6 km of the terminal, with listed rates starting at Rs 6,000/night. Land at Islamabad International at 2 a.m. and you have a decision to make — the closest well-rated stay on our books is 7.4 km from the airport, and the city itself is a solid half hour beyond that. Lahore falls in between: a quiet Cantt-side cluster starting 1.5 km out that most travellers never find, because airport searches keep surfacing the same five big names.

This guide covers all three cities using live prices, ratings and distances from Staezy listings as of August 2026 — not scraped aggregator rates. We also cover the things booking sites skip: whether anyone actually answers the gate bell at 3 a.m., how to get a room for a few hours between flights, and what documents you need at the desk (our hotel check-in rules guide has the full rundown, and how to book a hotel safely in Pakistan is worth a read before you pay anyone a deposit). Three airports, three different verdicts — let's take them in order.

Hotels Near Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad Airports: The Late-Night Arrival Guide

Hotels near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi: the only real airport cluster in Pakistan

Karachi is the one Pakistani city where "hotel near the airport" means exactly what it sounds like. The Model Colony and Shah Faisal side of Jinnah International holds a dense strip of hotels and guest houses, and the data proves it: all ten of our airport-area listings sit between 1.5 and 2.6 km from the terminal — a 5-10 minute drive even with luggage and a groggy driver.

Property Distance Listed rate/night Rating (reviews)
Airport Hotel 1.5 km Rs 18,000-25,500 3.5 (2,290)
New Couple Guest House Karachi inn Near Johar 2.0 km Rs 18,000-22,500 4.1 (8)
Hotel Crown Plaza 2.2 km Rs 12,000-19,500 4.3 (49)
Hotel Bed & Rest Airport 2.3 km Rs 15,000-20,500 4.1 (91)
Season inn Guest House 2.3 km Rs 12,500-20,500 4.0 (38)
ROYAL VILLA Guest House 2.3 km Rs 7,000-14,000 4.4 (60)
Karachi Airport Guest House 2.4 km Rs 7,500-11,500 3.9 (161)
Rehaish Inn Model Colony 2.6 km Rs 11,500-16,500 3.9 (97)
Airport Guest House 2.6 km Rs 6,000-12,500 4.2 (57)
Pearl Cottage Guest House 2.6 km Rs 12,000-20,500 3.7 (169)

How to read that table:

  • The veteran: Airport Hotel is the closest at 1.5 km and carries 2,290 reviews — by far the biggest review base in this entire guide. The 3.5 rating tells you what those reviews say: you're paying Rs 18,000-25,500/night (listed) for location and name recognition, not luxury.
  • The value pick: ROYAL VILLA Guest House is the quiet winner — 4.4/5 at Rs 7,000-14,000/night (listed), same 2.3 km ring as hotels charging double.
  • The budget floor: if you searched "cheap hotel near Karachi airport per night", the honest answer is Rs 6,000 at Airport Guest House, with Karachi Airport Guest House close behind at Rs 7,500-11,500 and a solid 161-review track record.
  • Built for transit: Hotel Bed & Rest Airport — the name is the business model. This whole strip lives off odd-hour flights, which is why late-night check-in here is routine rather than a favour.

Hotels near Lahore airport (Allama Iqbal): the Cantt-side cluster nobody advertises

Allama Iqbal International sits inside Lahore's Cantt, which changes the game: "near the airport" here also means near some of the calmest, greenest streets in the city. The cluster runs 1.5 to 3.6 km from the terminal, and it's dominated by guest houses rather than hotel towers — which is why it barely shows up on the big booking sites.

Property Distance Listed rate/night Rating (reviews)
Fatima Group Guest House, Cantt 1.5 km Rs 6,500-15,000 4.8 (12)
Walton Guest Rooms 1.8 km Rs 6,500-9,000 4.7 (134)
Regency Farmhouse Lahore 2.0 km Rs 5,000-15,000 4.2 (103)
PTCL guest house 2.1 km Rs 5,500-10,500 4.7 (81)
Bloom Family Suites 2.1 km Rs 13,000-15,500 4.5 (364)
Hotel Five Rivers - Airport Road 3.0 km Rs 6,000-14,000 4.1 (47)
Grand Enclave Hotel 3.1 km Rs 12,500-21,500 4.0 (554)
Hotel Holiday 3.1 km Rs 8,000-12,500 3.9 (242)
Hayat Lodges 3.5 km Rs 7,500-9,500 4.4 (20)
Hotel Family Ties 3.6 km Rs 5,000-7,500 3.9 (79)

Hotels near Islamabad International Airport: stay close, or just go into the city?

Time for the honest verdict, because Islamabad is different. The new Islamabad International Airport sits well outside the city — roughly 25-30 km from central Islamabad, a 30-45 minute drive in normal traffic and longer at rush hour. There is no hotel inside the terminal and no guest-house strip at the gate the way Karachi has. Anyone selling you an "airport hotel" in Islamabad is really selling you a hotel somewhere on the road to the airport.

The closest well-rated stay on Staezy is The Crown Guest House: 7.4 km from the terminal, 4.7/5 from 259 reviews, at Rs 11,500-15,500/night (listed). That's about 10-15 minutes by car — and 7.4 km is genuinely as close as quality lodging gets. If you need a hotel near Islamabad airport for one night before an early flight, this is the practical answer, and its strong rating across 259 reviews means it's not a compromise pick.

So: airport-side or city? A simple rule that works:

  • Stay airport-side if your departure is before ~8 a.m., your layover is under 12 hours, or you're landing after midnight and flying out the next morning. Fighting city traffic twice for a six-hour sleep is a self-inflicted wound.
  • Go into the city for anything else. Islamabad's F-sector and E-sector guest houses offer far more choice, better food nearby, and you're where you actually want to be. Start with our guest houses in Islamabad guide or browse all Islamabad stays.
  • Don't forget Rawalpindi. Depending on which side of the twin cities your business is, Pindi can be just as convenient for the airport run — our hotels in Rawalpindi guide covers that side.

Day-use hotels in Pakistan: getting a room for a few hours

Here's a gap in the market nobody talks about: day-use rooms — check in mid-morning, check out by evening, pay less than a full night — barely exist online in Pakistan. International hourly-booking platforms have essentially no local coverage, and properties almost never advertise it. But the inventory is real; you just book it the old-fashioned way.

How it actually works:

  1. Call or WhatsApp the property directly — don't rely on booking forms. Ask for a "day room" or simply say you need the room for a few hours between flights.
  2. Agree the rate and the checkout time before you arrive. Day rates are discounted off the nightly price, but they're negotiated case by case — get it in writing on WhatsApp.
  3. Guest houses flex more than hotels. Smaller operations with empty daytime rooms say yes readily; a front desk running a strict 12-noon checkout may not. The Karachi airport strip — places like Hotel Bed & Rest Airport — deals with transit passengers all day, so the question won't surprise anyone. For a hotel room for a few hours in Islamabad, run the same play with The Crown Guest House before you land.
  4. ID rules still apply. CNIC for locals, passport for foreigners, and couples should read the documentation section of our guest house vs hotel vs Airbnb comparison — a few-hours booking gets more front-desk scrutiny, not less.

Late-night arrival logistics: transport, shuttles and the 3 a.m. check-in

The room is only half the problem at 2 a.m. Here's the other half.

Getting from the terminal to the bed. Careem and inDrive operate around the clock at all three airports — book in-app from the arrivals hall and use card payment so you're not negotiating cash half-asleep. Skip the freelance taxi touts at the exit; the price will be creative. At Islamabad expect a longer walk to the pickup zone than at Karachi or Lahore. In Karachi and Lahore the drive to the clusters above is 5-10 minutes, so transport is a footnote; in Islamabad, factor the ride into your plan before you book anything.

The shuttle question. People searching "hotels near Karachi airport with free shuttle" mostly find the big chain hotels — scheduled shuttles are their game. The independent hotels and guest houses in this guide generally don't run one, but most will arrange a pickup if you message ahead with your flight number. Honestly, at these distances, a ride-hail is usually simpler.

Will anyone be awake? Late-night hotel check-in in Karachi's airport strip is business as usual — odd-hour flights are the whole customer base. But never assume 24-hour reception at a small guest house anywhere. Message before booking: "Flight lands 1:40 a.m., will reception be open?" A property that answers that question promptly at 11 p.m. is a property that will open the gate at 3 a.m.

Paperwork. CNIC or passport at check-in, no exceptions, even at 3 a.m. — details in our check-in rules guide. And book before you fly rather than showing up cold: confirmed booking, pinned location, confirmation screenshot saved offline. Our safe hotel booking guide covers how to verify a property and pay a deposit without getting burned.
